Students can obtain ECTS (min. 1 ECTS - max 4 ECTS; 25 hours for each ECTS) within the framework of the “Electives”, by carrying out internships in clinical departments and research/diagnostic laboratories of the Polyclinic Hospital University and other departments of University of Messina, upon presentation of a request to the professor of the chosen subject.
The student must fill the internship request form and submit it to the professor of the chosen subject for approval. The student is required to fill out the logbook daily, recording the activities performed during the internship.
The logbook must be signed by the supervising professor for each day of activity. Upon completion of the internship, the supervising professor must notify the Student Secretary (uop1.medsanvet@unime.it) that the student (Name, student ID number) has earned a specific number of ECTS credits through an elective internship on a given subject. The credits awarded depend on the number of hours attended (i.e., 1 ECTS credit = 25 hours). The student retains the logbook as a record of the activities performed and as proof of the completed internship.
